Hi my name is Charles Butler and I’m from the Charles Collection. We’re a company that provides custom made jewelry, as well as some of the lowest diamonds and engagement ring setting in the industry. About two and half years ago we were looking for a website/ web development company to help us. We needed to create a website that would be fast, very technological, great customer support, as well as an easy way to implement our products on the backend. I was interviewing different web companies all around the country, two of which were in Chicago, one of them was desme. I spoke with Enam Noor and I was extremely impressed first of all by his charisma and enthusiasm about the project and also his willingness to work on any option and there was no option that was off the table. If I said something to him like, how about this idea or how about that idea he was very open in saying, "ok how can we best implement that idea." He never said to me this was not possible, something that was very different from some of the other companies
I had interviewed with. One of the things that impressed me most about desme was the fact that I could be in New York City, which is where I live and he was here in Chicago and we could sit on two computer screens and look at a prototype. I’m looking at my screen, his looking at his screen and his walking me through the various changes and ideas and prototypical models of how interactive searches will work. We are going through all of this from a half a country apart. I’m in New York and he’s in Chicago and we are building the project from there. So I wasn’t limited. I did not have to fly into Chicago all the time to build this website. It was very helpful.
Once the development started I was extremely impressed by the implementation of the prototype models. It was actually better than I expected. The development was going so well that I decided to switch one of my other projects over to desme. I own another company called ultimateskate.com and we sell ice skating equipment as well as ice-skating instructional videos and I currently had another web team under contract but after I saw how well the jewelry site was going I didn’t have a choice but to switch it over to desme and have, what I felt was the best design team work on it. After the design phase was finished we went into the maintenance phase and the maintenance phase was very important to us as far as fixing any little bugs that might be in there. Or making minor adjustment to functionality that we didn’t know we needed before. desme was very, very quick and fast with implementing these changes we need. We were working on a tight timeline with Ultimate Skate. The Ultimate Skate project had to fit within a six week timeline. We actually finished two weeks in advanced, which was very impressive.
I’ve never been someone to give someone a job because I gave them a previous job. I feel like every job has to be earned. desme has done a great job as far as meeting our timeline expectations, as far as always hitting deadlines and always providing at least what they promise. I think that’s one of the most important things, you deliver something that you promised to the customer. You don’t sell them something better than what you can deliver. To me that makes me a very happy desme customer.
